There are three fundamental principles of successful thinking that we need to understand and apply in our lives:
1. Clarity: What do you really want and Why?
Knowing precisely WHAT do you want and WHY do you want it, builds the focus and motivation that is required to attain your goals. Being vaguely aware with your desires won’t build clear intention and deeper connection with your goals. Lack of clarity and purpose will make you feel lost and confused and eventually you may get derailed. Setting goals is a well-known practice, but it is equally important not to think superficially and understand the real motive behind your goals. Becoming clear with your “what” and “why” shall keep your thoughts aligned with your goals.
2. Positive Self-Talk: Start by focusing on your thoughts patterns
Our minds have a tendency to engage in negative self-talk, and this can be highly detrimental to our progress. This destructive pattern keeps people from attaining their goals. Hence, it is very crucial to identify these negative thought patterns and replace them with positive self-talk. This can be achieved by consciously observing our thoughts and recognizing when we are being self-critical or pessimistic. This requires some concentration but over the period of time, this practice will become a habit, enabling us to eliminate negativity and cultivate a positive mindset.
3. Belief: Have faith in yourself and trust your goals are achievable
Lack of faith and self-doubt creates resistance towards fulfilling your dreams and desires leading to stagnancy in life. Believing in the attainability of our goals is essential for success. One powerful way to strengthen our belief system is through imagination, where we create a mental image of ourselves doing things that we have never done before leading to fulfilment of our goals. Additionally, having a strong support system of like-minded individuals who believe in us and share our dreams can provide encouragement and motivation. It is important to be cautious about sharing our goals with negative individuals who may doubt our abilities.
